AP Exams
About AP Exams
Advanced Placement (AP) Exams are nationally standardized, college-level exams developed and administered by the College Board. AP Exams are offered each May and allow students the opportunity to earn college credit or advanced placement, depending on the policies of the college or university they attend.
AP Exams are optional and are separate from the AP course grade. A student may take an AP course without taking the exam, but college credit is awarded based on exam performance, not course enrollment.
Registration for AP Exams is completed through AP Classroom and the school’s payment system by published deadlines. Because exams must be ordered in advance, late registration and refunds are strictly limited.
Students and families are encouraged to research how individual colleges use AP scores, as credit and placement policies vary by institution.
For more information about AP exams, please visit the College Board's what-to-know website.

Accommodations
Classroom accommodations are not automatically available to you when you take College Board tests (AP exams, the SAT, or the PSAT). The school must have parental permission to submit your information to College Board. College Board then approves or disapproves the accommodations recommended by the school, based on your classroom accommodations as directed by your 504 plan or IEP. Accommodations from previous years often carry over, but you should verify the accommodations on file using the College Board's SSD website.
The information about submitting the consent form for accommodations with College Board will also be sent to families with 504 or IEP students via email in early January 2026.
Download the College Board accommodations consent form here.
504 Plan Students

IEP/SpEd Students
