Cy-Fair, Langham Creek win district titles; five teams enter playoffs
The Langham Creek High School softball team won the District 16-6A championship after finishing with a perfect 14-0 record in district play. The Lobos will meet Tomball Memorial in a best-of-three series beginning April 25 at Cy-Fair High School.

April 23, 2025—The District 16-6A and District 17-6A softball seasons ended on April 17 with five CFISD teams qualifying for the UIL Class 6A playoffs.  

Langham Creek High School won the District 16-6A championship, posting a perfect 14-0 district record. Cypress Ranch High School placed second with a 12-2 district record followed by Bridgeland High School placing third with a 10-4 record. Waller High School placed fourth with a 7-7 record.

The following District 16-6A teams will enter the UIL Region II-6A playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:

  • Langham Creek vs. Tomball Memorial
    • Game 1 – 6:15 p.m. on April 25 at Cy-Fair High School (22602 Northwest Freeway)
    • Game 2 – 1 p.m. on April 26 at Cy-Fair High School
    • Game 3, if necessary – 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2 on April 26 at Cy-Fair High School.
  • Cypress Ranch will face Klein at 6 p.m. on April 24 at Cypress Ridge High School (7900 N. Eldridge Parkway)
  • Bridgeland vs. Klein Oak
    • Game 1 – 6 p.m. on April 23 at Bridgeland High School (10707 Mason Road)
    • Game 2 – 6 p.m. on April 24 at Klein Oak High School (22603 Northcrest Drive)
    • Game 3, if necessary – 4:30 p.m. on April 25 at Cypress Ridge High School
The Cy-Fair High School softball team won the Co-District 17-6A championship after finishing with a 12-2 record in district play. The Bobcats will play Houston Lamar at 6 p.m. on April 24 at Cy-Fair High School.

Cy-Fair High School and Stratford High School both posted 12-2 district records, claiming the Co-District 17-6A championship. Cypress Creek High School went 8-6 in district play to finish fourth.

Both the Bobcats and Cougars will enter the UIL Region III-6A playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:

  • Cy-Fair will play Houston Lamar at 6 p.m. on April 24 at Cy-Fair High School.
  • Cypress Creek vs. Houston Bellaire
    • Game 1 – 6:30 p.m. on April 24 at Houston ISD Butler Stadium (13755 South Main)
    • Game 2 – 5:30 p.m. on April 25 at Cypress Creek High School (9811 Huffmeister Road)
    • Game 3, if necessary – 20 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2 on April 25 at Cypress Creek High School

Tickets for Langham Creek, Bridgeland, Cypress Ranch, Cy-Fair and Cypress Creek are $5 a piece (adults and students) and will be sold online.
