Cy Ranch wins district baseball title; six CFISD teams enter playoffs

The Cypress Ranch High School baseball team clinched the District 16-6A championship with a 13-1 record. The Mustangs will face Klein Collins in the bi-district playoffs.

April 30, 2025—The District 16-6A and District 17-6A baseball seasons ended on April 25, with six CFISD teams qualifying for the UIL playoffs. 

Cypress Ranch High School won the District 16-6A championship with a 13-1 record in league play. Bridgeland High School finished one game behind to claim the second seed at 12-2. Cypress Woods High School went 10-4 in district play and Langham Creek High School will be the fourth seed at 7-7.

The following District 16-6A teams will enter the UIL Region II-6A playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:

  •          Cypress Ranch vs. Klein Collins:
  •  Game 1 – April 30 at 7 p.m. at Klein Collins High School (20811 Ella Blvd.)
  •  Game 2 – May 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Cypress Ranch High School (10700 Fry Road)
  •  Game 3, if necessary – May 2 at 4 p.m. at Cypress Ranch High School
  •          Bridgeland vs. Klein Cain:
  •  Game 1 – May 1 at 7 p.m. at Bridgeland High School (10707 Mason Road)
  •  Game 2 – May 2 at 7 p.m. at Klein Cain High School (10201 Spring Cypress Road);
  •  Game 3, if necessary – May 3 at Bridgeland High School
  •          Cypress Woods vs. Magnolia West:
  •  Game 1 – May 1 at 7 p.m. at Tomball Memorial High School (19100 Northpointe Ridge Lane)
  •  Game 2 – May 2 at 7 p.m. at Tomball Memorial High School
  •  Game 3, if necessary – May 3, location TBD
  •          Langham Creek vs. Tomball
  •  Game 1 – April 30 at 7 p.m. at Tomball High School (30330 Quinn Road)
  •  Game 2 – May 1 at Langham Creek High School (17610 FM 529)
  •  Game 3, if necessary – May 3 at Tomball High School

Memorial High School won the District 17-6A championship with a 14-0 record in district play. Cy-Fair High School went 11-3 to earn the district’s second seed ahead of Stratford High School, who finished the season with a record of 10-4. Cypress Falls High School claimed the district’s fourth seed at 7-7.

The following CFISD District 17-6A teams will enter the UIL Region III-6A playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:

  •          Cy-Fair vs. Houston Bellaire
  •    Game 1 – May 1 at 5 p.m. at Bulter Stadium (13755 South Main Street)
  •    Game 2 – May 2 at 7 p.m. at Cy-Fair High School (15415 Cypress North Houston Road)
  •    Game 3, if necessary – May 3 at 12 p.m. at Cy-Fair High School
  •          Cypress Falls vs. Houston Lamar
  •    Game 1 – May 1 at 7 p.m. at Cypress Creek High School (9815 Grant Road)
  •    Game 2 – May 2 at 3:30 p.m. at Cypress Creek High School
  •    Game 3, if necessary – May 3 at 12 p.m. at Cypress Creek High School

Tickets for games will be $5 each (adults and students) and sold online via the links above. Tickets for Game 1 of the Cypress Ranch vs. Klein Collins series will be sold through Klein ISD. Tickets for the Cypress Woods vs. Tomball Memorial series will be sold through Tomball ISD.
