Soccer postseason begins for 12 CFISD teams

March 19, 2025—The District 16-6A and District 17-6A soccer seasons concluded March 7, with the top four boys’ and girls’ teams from each side qualifying for the UIL playoffs that begin March 20.  

In 16-6A, Bridgeland High School and Cypress Woods High School claimed the girls’ championship, both finishing with a 12-1-1 record to head into the postseason. Cypress Ranch High School placed third with an 11-3 record, while Cypress Lakes High School claimed the fourth seed by finishing with a 6-6-2 record, marking the Spartans’ first playoff berth in program history.

The bi-district pairings are as follows:

  • Bridgeland will meet Klein Oak at 7 p.m. on March 21 at Cy-Fair High School (22602 Northwest Freeway)
  • Cypress Woods will play Tomball at 7:15 p.m. on March 21 at Tomball ISD Stadium (20235 Cypress Rosehill Road)
  • Cypress Ranch will face Tomball Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on March 21 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium (8877 Barker Cypress Road)
  • Cypress Lakes will clash with Magnolia at 7 p.m. on March 20 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium

On the boys’ side, Bridgeland claimed the District 16-6A championship with an 11-1-2 record. Langham Creek High School finished with a 9-2-3 record to claim the district’s second seed, while Cypress Springs High School had a 6-4-4 record to claim the third seed. Cypress Lakes finished with a 5-6-2 record to finish fourth.

The bi-district pairings are as follows:

  • Bridgeland will face Klein Collins at 7:30 p.m. on March 21 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium
  • Langham Creek will play Magnolia West at 7 p.m. on March 21 at Langham Creek High School (17610 FM 529)
  • Cypress Springs will meet Tomball Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on March 21 at Cypress Woods High School (13550 Woods Spillane Blvd)
  • Cypress Lakes will clash with Klein Cain at 7 p.m. on March 21 at Jersey Village High School (7600 Solomon Street)

Cypress Ridge High School claimed the fourth seed by posting a 7-7 record, marking the Rams’ first playoff berth in program history. Spring Branch ISD’s Stratford High School finished first and Memorial High School finished second.

The bi-district pairings are as follows:

  • Cy-Fair will play Houston Bellaire at 7:45 p.m. on March 20 at HISD’s Butler Stadium (13755 Main Street)
  • Cypress Ridge will meet Houston Lamar at 6:15 p.m. on March 20 at HISD’s Butler Stadium

On the boys’ side, Cypress Ridge claimed the District 17-6A championship with a 10-2-2 record. Cypress Falls High School posted a 6-4-4 record to finish fourth. Spring Branch ISD’s Northbrook High School finished second and Memorial finished third.

The bi-district pairings are as follows:

  • Cypress Ridge will play Houston Sam Houston at 7 p.m. on March 21 at Spring Branch ISD’s Tully Stadium (1050 Dairy Ashford Street)
  • Cypress Falls will meet Houston Lamar at 7 p.m. on March 21 at Cypress Falls High School (9811 Huffmeister Road)

Tickets for all playoff games will be sold online for $5 apiece (adults and students).
