Cypress Ranch High School junior Megan Murphy was named the District 20-6A Most Valuable Player.

Nov. 7, 2025—CFISD boys’ and girls’ water polo coaches released the All-District 20-6A teams following the conclusion of each team’s season.

On the girls’ side, Cypress Ranch High School junior Megan Murphy was named Most Valuable Player. Fellow Cypress Ranch teammate sophomore Gigi DeGuise was named Newcomer of the Year. Bridgeland junior Eva Salinas was named Goalkeeper of the Year while Bridgeland teammates Liliana Lacefield, sophomore, and Ollie Richardson, junior, were named Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively. Cypress Ranch Head coach Richard Carnicle was named Coach of the Year.

Cypress Ranch High School sophomore Gigi DeGuise was voted District 20-6A’s Newcomer of the Year.

On the boys’ side, Cypress Ranch senior Acen Shirley was named Most Valuable Player. Fellow Cypress Ranch teammates senior Caleb Jistel was named Defensive Player of the Year and freshman Henry Rodriguez was named Newcomer of the Year. Bridgeland sophomore Shiv Patel was named Offensive Player of the Year while Langham Creek High School junior Jordan McDonald was named Goalkeeper of the Year. Bridgeland Head Coach Alex Sikkema, Cypress Ranch Head Coach Richard Carnicle and Cypress Park High School Head Coach Harrison Haines were all named Co-Coach of the Year.

Bridgeland High School junior Eva Salinas was named the District 20-6A Goalkeeper of the Year.
