Cypress Woods High School junior outfielder Alexia Vazquez won District 16-6A MVP after leading Cypress Woods with a .526 batting average and 52 RBIs.

June 4, 2026—District 16-6A softball coaches recently released the 2026 16-6A All-District Softball Team after Bridgeland High School advanced to the regional semifinals.

Cypress Woods High School junior outfielder Alexia Vazquez, a Troy commit, earned District MVP after helping lead the Wildcats back to the playoffs this season with 52 RBIs and 13 home runs.

Langham Creek High School junior Kassidy Martinez, a UT-Arlington commit, and Bridgeland sophomore catcher Gabby Gray split Defensive MVP honors, while fellow Bridgeland sophomore Tara Tarnowski was named the district’s Pitcher of the Year after striking out 149 batters across 102.2 innings pitched.

Bridgeland High School sophomore catcher Gabby Gray earned the district’s Defensive Player of the Year after the Lady Bears advanced to the regional semifinals.

The district also recognized Bridgeland sophomore second baseman Lilly Young and Cypress Park High School sophomore catcher Johanna Acuna, who batted .673 with six home runs, as the district’s Co-Newcomers of the Year.

Cypress Park High School sophomore catcher Johnna Acuna shared co-Newcomer of the Year honors with Bridgeland sophomore Lilly Young after finishing the season with a .673 batting average.

In the dugout, Cypress Woods head coach Clif Bond brought home Coach of the Year honors after a ten-win improvement which saw the Wildcats return to the postseason.
