A new Texas law (House Bill 1481) requires school districts to prohibit student use of all personal communication devices during the school day. Therefore, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is updating its personal communication device policy.
For the 2025-2026 school year, the use of all personal communication devices is prohibited during the school day. Devices must be turned off and stored in the student’s personal bag or backpack at all times during the school day.
If your student is in need of a Verification of Enrollment (VOE), it is their responsibility to come by the Assoc. Principal’s Secretary office, rm 1000.3A and sign up for one via QR Code that is posted. Parents are not to call in for a VOE. The student will not be given a VOE the same day they sign up for one. Please allow a one day turnaround. VOE’s are based on the student’s attendance from the previous semester. If your student had excessive absences from the previous semester, he/she will not be able to get a VOE until the excessive absences have been made up, or he/she has come to school for an entire semester without excessive absences. This is a state law and there are no exceptions.
In order to maximize campus safety procedures, the front desk will not be able to accept any deliveries including student lunch, gym clothes, musical instrument drop offs, etc. The campus does not have the personnel or space to adequately supervise any student items left for pick up.
